I think there are few people who do that. I was always fascinated by the working ferrets and good hunters who have the understanding and care for their pets and actually been meaning to try and go on the rabbit hunt but never got a chance! Have you stories of the hunts you have had?

i bought nets from bridport nets they are 10 and 12 oz nylon very good i wouldnt use anything else now, i used to use hemp but after few wet days they tend to weaken, i mostly use my ferrerts under my hawks.. ye def cant beat getting out and hearing the thunder of a rabbit hitting the side of the burrow and then a it bursting out of burrow...

If you could post more info about the fairs that will happen, please do so! I am really interested in them and would like to finally visit one (been to Tullamore Agriculture Show, not the same thing though).

I work my ferret. Used to have two ferrets in the u.k both hunters and very good ones too. Some dont hunt there ferrets all year round but i take mine out all year round. I use the mark 1 finders but have friends who use the mark 3. The kids love going out with me and the farm i have here also likes me ferretting the land as he is a greyhound breeder.
I use purse nets but always seem to miss a hole and you can guarantee its the one the rabbit will bolt from. But hey its a damned good outing even if nothing is in the bag at the end of the day.
